“Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10, ESV)
Do you have anxiety and need God to fill you with His peace?
The more genuine conversations I have with people, the more I recognize that anxiety has a stronghold on many.
My youngest son would tell you that he needs God to be his refuge when his anxiety ramps up. He references Psalms 46:2–3 as an image of the chaos he can feel going on in his head, “…though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.”
By meditating on His Word, my son recognizes that his struggles are known to God and that he does not need to fear. He trusts that the Lord is his strength and ever-present help (Psalm 46:1).
How about you, friend?
Does your life feel turned upside-down at times?
God says, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).
Seek Him and let Him speak peace into your chaos.
Lord, as I take in a deep breath and release control to You, cover me with Your peace. Be my refuge and strength in my time of trouble. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
