I, Nichole LaPointe, founder of this ministry, have experienced moments that felt like a defeat. Feelings of slow death in darkness… struggling to see how anything in life amounts to anything good.
I close my eyes and think back to seven years ago—soaking in a bathtub, letting my mind run wild with all that life was throwing at me. Scared. Confused. Sad. Hurt. Disappointed. Angry. Plus every other un-joyful human feeling one can have in moments like this. I was wrestling with myself and with questions of…
Will I make it? Does anyone see my pain? Will I ever recover?
As question after question raced through my mind, no soothing answers came.
But, God…
Yes—God, in a moment, grew in me a faith I had never known before. In an instant, I knew Jesus was there to walk me through the pain.
Within minutes of drying off from the long bath, I got on my knees and asked Jesus to fix me. To heal me. To make me whole again.
I knew right then that healing was coming… but only by walking through the buried pain with Jesus.
You see, Jesus saved my soul as a teenager. But my mind was in a mess.
My mind needed the nourishment of Truth.
I needed His Word to rewire my brain from the lies of the enemy. I needed the Holy Spirit to strengthen me in my weakness. And, I needed a community of Jesus followers to show me how to love Jesus and people, while suffering with heartache and difficulties.
Friends, this journey of recovery was not short-lived or easy.
In fact, this journey of healing took several years, many buckets of tears, a counselor that I visited sometimes twice a week… but most importantly, it took me soaking up God’s Word.
Through reading, pondering, and studying God’s Word, I came to know Jesus, the Savior of my soul.
In coming to know Jesus, I learned to trust Him.
In learning to trust Jesus, I came to believe, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28, ESV)
I share this testimony so you can understand my heart and our ministry’s heart.
I share this… to give you hope.
Truth is, our ministry team has nothing to offer you but Jesus.
The good news? Jesus is the One we need!
We invite you in, and we pray that you will visit us often. We want you to taste the goodness of Jesus through His Word and through us.
