God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:27-29, ESV).
Child of God, Take a moment and breathe in your surroundings today. Ask God to give you spiritual eyes and ears to see whom you are to reach out to and share the gospel with.
Remember—we are God’s kingdom and are called to live upside-down from this world’s standards.
“. . . has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which He has promised to those who love Him” (James 2:5)?
… The rich, wise, strong, and boastful of this world believe they need nothing, not realizing they are “wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked” (Revelation 3:17).
But the foolish, weak, lowly, and despised… their hearts are the good soil ready to receive the seed of good news—Jesus Christ (Matthew 13:1-23).
Lord, give us spiritual eyes to see the foolish, weak, lowly, and despised of this world. Help us recognize their hearts as the good soil readied for seed. Give us the courage to speak Life into them… sharing Your offer of salvation as a free gift of grace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
